Kate Mayne is based in Antwerp, Belgium. Her works are intimate re-workings of snapshots taken on travels and in everyday life. Light is an ongoing concern; some of the images have a poignancy or a symbolic appeal which springs entirely from happenstance; others are consciously staged. Together the small scale works enter into visual conversations denoting possible narratives, depending on how they are juxtaposed.
